Meetings

VAPS Committee of Management holds committee meetings on the first Sunday of each month, except January. The venue is usually at the home of a sitting committee member, but as often as can be managed, is sited at a regional location and hosted by the local camera club.

There are two principal meetings held during the year, the 'Half-Yearly' in April and the Annual General Meeting in October. These meeting are open to all members of affiliated clubs and it is at these meetings that important issues are debated and voted on by those with the necessary official voting rights and proxies. A mathematical system determines the number of votes each 'councilor' is entitled to. This is to ensure that clubs of varying membership strengths are given equal weighting with their votes.

The Annual Half-Yearly meeting is usually a time for updates and minor decision making.

The AGM is the time when the sitting Committee of Management stands aside and elections held for all positions. It is also at the AGM that major decisions are made and changes, that constitutionaly can only be ratified at an AGM, are decided upon.

These meetings are usually held at the Melbourne Camera Club and VAPS is grateful to the MCC for making their premises available for these important events.
