Rosanna Photographic Club

Founded in 1959, the first meeting took place at the home of foundation member, Cliff Lewis, in Rosanna.  In the past ten years Ray Bradford and Malcolm Vickers were awarded Life Membership for their long-time service to the club.  Four members: Wally Gore; Craig Gurnett; Peter Gonzales and Gerry Gore were awarded Meritorious Awards with Jan Burt and Jeff Rowe receiving SSVAPS Awards.  RPC has continued to be successful at all levels: AV entries, VAPS conventions and Interclub competitions.

The club moved to various venues over the years. In 2010 the club moved to St Pius Church Hall, Waterdale Road, West Heidelberg where meetings are still held today. Over the year’s membership has grown considerably with the club now having a membership of approximately 105 financial members.  An “Introduction to Photography” course was started in 1997 and is still being held to this date. With the introduction of digital technology many more people are interested in the art of good photography and communication between club members and the committee is much more forthcoming. The last printing of the club newsletter “The Viewfinder” was published in 2000, to be replaced by the club website, which was launched in 2004.

Executive 2009 – 2018

From humble beginnings in 1959 the club is looking forward to celebrating sixty years of the Rosanna Photographic Club in 2019. Known to be a friendly and welcoming club we are sure the club will continue to celebrate the joy of photography and good company well after 2019.
